Letter to NEST+m Students and Families, Week of February 8, 2016

Dear NEST+m Students and Families,

As you know all schools are closed today in observance of the Lunar New Year: Happy New Year to All.

As you also know, February is Black History Month. As you plan ahead for midwinter recess, please consider the ongoing programming that takes place at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Studio Museum of Harlem and our city’s many other cultural institutions.

In our Week Ahead:
Tuesday: 4pm to 6pm: Monthly SLT Meeting in Library. All are welcome.
Wednesday: 8:30am to 10:30am: Tour for prospective 6th grade ICT students and families begins in our Auditorium. Please direct interested families to RSVP to Parent Coordinator Marcy Duran at mduran22@schools.nyc.gov with the header ICT Tour.

Thursday:  Our lower grades Lunar New Year celebration will take place with two auditorium-based celebrations. The PTA will be serving dumplings in the NEST+m cafeteria.
Friday: Full day of instruction. Students engaged in formal after-school activities will be able to stay on site following the school day. All other students are asked to leave following our final instructional period.

Monday 2/15 to 2/19 Schools Closed for Midwinter Recess.

Monday 2/22: School Resumes. Respect For All Assemblies will take place.
Thursday March 10th (evening) and Friday March 11th  (afternoon): Parent Teacher Conferences. Please save the date.
