Letter to NEST+m Students and Families, Week of February 22, 2016

Dear NEST+m Students & Families,
I am hoping that you have had a rest-filled and relaxing Midwinter recess.
School resumes this Monday February 22.
In addition to resuming all classes, Monday February 22nd is NEST+m’s  February Assembly Day. This month’s program is thematically aligned with the Department of Education’s Respect for All initiative. Our culture of care, respect and inclusivity is created each day through our individual and collective words and actions. For more information about Respect for All, please see:
Save the Date: Parent teacher conferences will take place on Thursday March 10th (4:45pm to 7:45pm) and Friday March 11th  (12:40pm to 2:40pm). More information is forthcoming.
Cafeteria Culture: Thanks to parental support and training provided by the team at “Cafeteria Culture,” www.cafeteriaculture.org our K-12 students have learned to sort their cafeteria food and packaging into garbage, recycle and compost bins. Our cafeteria garbage output has been reduced from several hundred pounds to less than 10 pounds per day! Thanks to every NEST+m student, faculty and community member this work will have a huge impact on our schoolwide environmental footprint.
Go Eagles: The NEST+m Varsity Boys Basketball team is in the playoffs and has a first round bye. Their second round playoff game is at home on Thursday, 2/25/16 @ 5:00pm. Good luck team!
