Letter to NEST+m Students and Families, Week of June 13, 2016

Dear NEST+M Students and Families,

Please join me in congratulating Assistant Principal Joshua Gold who has recently been named Principal of HAFTR Middle School, a Jewish Day School, on Long Island.   After many years of service to the NEST+m community, we wish Mr. Gold great success as he makes this transition following the completion of our school year.

In our Week Ahead:

Monday June 13th:

  • Monday is the final day of classes for Upper Grades students prior to the Regents Week testing period.
  • Upper Grades Students are expected to return all school-issued instructional supplies/books and to empty their lockers by the end of day Monday. Students who are holding onto textbooks for continued study must make arrangements with their teachers regarding when they will return these texts.
  • On Monday a new tradition within our K-12 community begins: A Senior Walk featuring 12th grade students, wearing cap and gown, processing through our 2nd floor. This is wonderful opportunity for our soon-to-be graduates to be celebrated by lower grade students, and for our lower grade students to see their part in a community that extends all the way to high school graduation.

Tuesday June 14th:

  • Clerical Non-Attendance Day for Grades K-8 (No K-8 students in attendance. No Upper Grades students in attendance except Regents test takers)
  • June 14-22 – Regents Examinations (No Upper Grades students in attendance except for test-takers). Middle School Students taking Regents exams report to school only for their exam during test days (they do not attend other classes).
