The New York City Department of Education will be conducting a Quality Review on Thursday February 9th and Friday February 10th. These are regular instructional days for our students and teachers. Students may be asked by the Reviewers to share up to three work samples such as writing, lab reports or projects and to speak of their experience as learners.

Wednesday February 8, 2017:

Lunar New Year Celebration. K-12 Lion Dance will take place near start of day. Auditorium Assembly Schedule:

  • Period 1: 8:45 – 9:15, Grades K-2
  • Period 2: 9:30 – 10:00, Grades 3-5
  • Period 3: 10:15-10:45, Grades 6-8

 

Thank you to Margaret Tanzosh, Keshia Souffrant, Ben Kimmerle, Roy Whitford, Neil Selter, Amy Gerstein for supporting over 40 students who participated in the NEST+m CS50 Hackathon this weekend. This was a dynamic extended learning opportunity featuring Upper Grades CompSci Students + Harvard CS50 Instructor David Malan.

Congratulations to Johanna Cinquegrana and NEST+m’s Middle Grades Mathematicians  who placed second out of over 30 schools in Saturday’s Manhattan MathCounts competition. Two students placed in the top 16 (out of 300 students) and competed in the Countdown Round. NEST+m’s team advances to the NY State round held in Albany on March 18.
