Letter to Students & Families, Week of March 15, 2020

March 15, 2020

Dear NEST+m Students & Families,

We have just learned that NYC DOE Schools will be closed starting tomorrow Monday March 16, 2020. School buildings are scheduled to reopen to students following Spring Recess on Monday, April 20, 2020.

We will be in regular communication over the coming days and weeks as we receive additional guidance from the NYC Department of Education and NY State Department of Education about how to proceed in this new normal.

COVID-19: Please be advised that a parent of a NEST+m Kindergarten student has tested positive for COVID-19. That parent had been on-site, inside our auditorium, last Wednesday March 11th. The parent had no symptoms at the time.  The Department of School Facilities has been on-site all day to provide a deep cleaning of the entire NEST+m campus with special attention to Kindergarten classrooms and our auditorium.

Distance Learning: Our K-12 teachers are working to support all students through distance learning platforms. K-12 distance learning plans will be ready for distribution by or before Wednesday March 18th.

Once again— our top priority is the safety and well-being of every NEST+m student, family and faculty member. We are sending our best to you all.

Thank you for your ongoing support and communication.

Warmly,

Mark Berkowitz
Principal
