Letter to Students and Families from Mark Berkowitz Week of April 27, 2020

Dear NEST+m Students and Families,

As we enter this sixth week of Remote Learning, I am writing to send congratulations directed toward the entire NEST+m community with special praise to our Upper Grades Students, Teachers, Faculty and Families.

As you may have heard, last week U.S. News & World Report released its annual rankings of High Schools across New York State. NEST+m has been named the #19 H.S. in New York State!

As one school K-12, this is an accolade our entire K-12 community should celebrate.

Congratulations to Upper Grades Students Noah Feig (9), Kieran Campbell (11), and Henry Todorow (12) for competing in the New York Math League’s online High School Competition this past weekend. Noah placed first in the 9th grade and Kieran placed first in the 11th grade! Kieran also finished 2nd overall. All three students qualified for the next round of the competition! According to Kieran, “it was fun, and it was an interesting experience to have an online team competition.”

If you would like to know more about joining the Upper Grades Math Team, please contact teacher Mr. Brandon Inhaber at Binhaber@schools.nyc.gov

Students and families in Grades 6-12 can now obtain their Marking Period 4 grades via PupilPath or your NYC Schools Account.

Wishing you a week of good health and meaningful learning.

Mark Berkowitz
