Yellow Bus & Public Transportation

YELLOW SCHOOL BUS
From kindergarten through sixth grade, eligible students residing in Manhattan may take the free yellow school bus. Please visit the Public Bus Transportation webpage  to find out how to request Public Bus Service.

Please make arrangements to drop off and pick up your child for the first few days of school, as it takes a few days for students to be processed into the DOE transportation system.

METROCARD
Students who are not eligible for the yellow school bus may be eligible for the MetroCard. Please contact Marcy Duran mduran22@schools.nyc.gov (212-677-5190) or the New York City Office of Pupil Transportation (718-392-8855) for eligibility requirements.

Public transportation options include the M14D, M9, and M21 buses and the F train (exit the front of the train at the Second Avenue stop; then walk east on Houston Street).

Private Bus Service

If your child is not eligible for one of the options listed above, you can consider private bus service. Each bus group negotiates its own bus contracts, so contact the appropriate coordinator to find out information about cost and routes. These buses are parent-run and organized and are not affiliated with the NEST+m PTA.
