Welcome!
Dear Middle Grade Families,
We are looking forward to a great 2022-2023 year! We’re also excited to extend a special welcome to our new NEST+m families, and encourage all of you, old and new, to get involved with the PTA and our NEST+m community throughout the year.
NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, SABRINA ROBIN
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Sabrina Robin who will be joining the NEST+m community as Assistant Principal Supervision (Interim Acting) for Grades 6-8.
Ms. Robin is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Since 2004 she has been a Middle School and High School Science teacher in the NYC Department of Education.
In addition to her prior experience as a lead teacher within the American Museum of Natural History’s Urban Advantage program for Middle School science, Ms. Robin has served as a teacher of Living Environment and AP Biology, a Department Chair, Professional Development Committee Member, Data Specialist and Dean of Culture at Pace University High School.
Ms. Robin is also an Adjunct Professor at Pace University Graduate School of Education.
We are excited that Ms. Robin will be joining the NEST+m community. Please know that AP Johnson will continue to serve the NEST+m community though aspects of his work/leadership responsibilities will shift during the Spring.
Important Information
- SONYC - All SONYC Programs run Monday-Friday, 2:45-5:45 pm. Fall classes begin on September 19th. If you are registered for SONYC classes you should have received an email with DYCD Enrollment Forms. These forms are mandatory for all SONYC classes and physical copies must be turned in on the first day of classes. Digital copies are not accepted. If your child is taking multiple SONYC classes, you do not need to fill out multiple forms. Please bring one (1) copy of the enrollment forms on whichever day your child has their first SONYC class. Failure to turn in enrollment forms will result in forfeiting your child's spot in the SONYC program. Please contact our SONYC director, Austin Rivera at nestmsonyc@gmail.comwith any additional questions.
- CLASSROOM SUPPLY FEE - Please pay your $40 school supply fee if you haven’t already done so. This large-scale purchasing effort guarantees that the teachers get exactly what they need to equip their classrooms, allows us to take advantage of bulk pricing, and ensures that teachers do not have to reach into their own pockets to purchase classroom supplies. (This fee is separate from the General Fund donation.)
